Peoples Insurance and Benefit Group was originally founded in 1917 at Rossville KS as a property/casualty insurance agency under the name "Rossville Insurance Agency".

Current Chairman of the Board, Ronald Lutz purchased the agency in 1974, moving its corporate offices to Topeka in 1990 and retaining a branch office in Rossville.

In 1998 the agency moved to its newly constructed offices, which it occupies today, at 1414 SW Ashworth Place in Topeka.
